Like hundreds of musicians Valley College student Devlin Murphy, 23, yearns for stardom as a pop music star. And like the others, he's searching for a way to separate himself from the hungry pack of would-be headliners. One way to do that is to perform ... a lot. Last week he and his band, Devlin, played Club Tangier in Los Angeles. This summer, a Japan tour is planned as the opening act for Manabu Oshio-LIV-- one of Japan's hottest rock bands. Plus, a possible deal to open for the Beach Boys is in the works. But before hitting the stage, Devlin has a music theory class to attend and a late-night rehearsal with his band. All leading up to another night under the lights playing rock 'n' roll!
