The difference in watching the NBA finals pre-game show and just checking the highlight reels on Sports Center after the game is the distinction between a highly anticipated LeBron-Bryant match up and that of Dwight Howard vs. the Birdman. As the post season continues, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James still top the points per game standings with an impressive 35.3 for Mr. James and 29.8 for the L.A. kid. The two have battled an entire season for wins, stats, and MVP, but now it's Denver and Orlando who have the upper hand and a closer look to the Finals than many thought possible. Tying the series at two Memorial Day turned out quite memorable for the Nuggets as they defeated the Lakers by an astounding 19-point margin on their home floor. This is the first time in Denver Nuggets history the franchise has won two games in a conference finals match up. "They kept getting second-chance opportunities and making us pay for them," Bryant said after the loss. "They did a great job on the boards." Second chances and missed opportunities have and will continue to be an issue for the Lakers unless they can find some way to rally back at the Staples Center for a key Game 5. On the east side of things, the laid back Cleveland Cavaliers, at least for their first eight games, are now in a dead lock, down 2-1 to the highly energetic Orlando Magic. Although the Magic are giving the Cavs issues, there is still much hope in Cleveland as James hit a game winning 3 at the end of Game 2.
"Wow," James said. " I mean, the reaction from the fans and the teammates, the loudest it has ever been in this building…" The games to come will all be drastically important for each of the remaining four teams. As the sweat begins to drip from the five on the floor and David Stern, the LeBron and Kobe match up may have to wait another year, or maybe just NBA 2K 15. The jello is not jiggling, the refrigerator is not closed and the unpredictable moments to could be held in somewhere besides the star sighting capital of the NBA.
