The Valley College music department hosted another inspiring musical event Thursday featuring Sarkis Baltaian, an accomplished pianist who has performed with orchestras throughout the world.

Baltaian's sensitive attention to Beethoven's "Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor, opus 27 no. 2" (the "Moonlight Sonata") delighted the audience. His passion, agility, and articulation truly honored the spirit of Beethoven.

The music recital hall was also filed with strains of the "6th Nocturne op. 63" by Gabriel Faure and "Fantasien op. 116" by Johannes Brahms, further demonstrating Baltaian's artistry.

Baltaian, a University of Southern California graduate and winner of the 1999 USC Piano Concerto Competition is currently assisting professor John Perry at the USC music school.
