Walking through Renaissance Faire is like stepping into 16th century England. Through the decorative costumes and authentic scenery, the "Golden Age" of the English Renaissance is brought back to life.

The 42nd Annual Renaissance Pleasure Faire is open for its seven-weekend run in Glen Helen Regional Park in Devore. The festival includes more than 1,200 performers in full Elizabethan costume coming together to create a memorable experience for visitors.

The faire's eight stages host Shakespeare parodies and other comedic shows such as "Romeo and Juliet: Version 2.0," "Fine Fakespearean comedy," and "Bold and Stupid Men." Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth I puts on a show of her own as she moves through the crowd of onlookers as they shout "Hail to our royal Monarch" and "God Save the Queen!" while she and her entourage make their way to the Royal Joust and the Queen's Royal Pageant.

Entertainment includes Middle Eastern dancers in two separate shows, musicians, jugglers and five parades that travel down the streets all throughout the day. Following the Faire's motto to "Eat, Drink and Be Merry" the festival has more than 100 foods ranging from traditional to exotic and mock-16th century cuisine including turkey legs, peasant platter (pork ribs) and dragon eggs (stuffed jalapenos). The faire has enough shows, events and shopping to entertain visitors the whole day.
