It may have been the "Nintendo Fusion Tour," but everyone seemed to be there for the music, considering that the gaming stations at the sold out show were nearly empty.

Never has a crowd been so involved with every act that graced the stage. If shows were judged purely by crowd participation, then this one would get six out of five stars.

Letter Kills opened the show, and though the Wiltern was still filling up, there was plenty of enthusiasm throughout the crowd.

As My Chemical Romance prepared to take the stage, the darkened stage was flooded with fog, red light and lightning flashes. Translucent screens, one with a skeleton bride and the other with a skeleton groom, were set up on either side of the stage.

Deafening screams filled the room in anticipation for the band to begin its set. As the first notes of the song permeated the room, pogoing, crowd surfing and shoe-tossing began.

Though most of the lyrics were unintelligible, none of the fans singing along seemed to mind.

Lost Prophets began their set with the "Back to the Future" theme and bright lights skimming over the audience. The crowd became a living thing; breathing, dancing and reciting the words to the songs as one entity.

Even though headlining act Story of the Year didn't do any of its trademark back flips, it was still a memorable show.

In the middle of its set the band played a medley of songs ranging from Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" to "Sweet Home California," a play on Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama."

"Whoa! In the shadows of the night!" the audience shouted along to Story of the Year's encore "In the Shadows."

When the house lights came up for the last time, people lingered and milled out slowly, still basking in the afterglow of the performance.
