The Valley Cities Jewish Community Center is welcoming Air America radio host Laura Flanders and LA Times columnist Robert Scheer to the center's second installment of the Provocative Speakers series March 15.

Held on the third Tuesday of every month, the series, now in its second year, has brought many accomplished writers, speakers and noted personalities such as Arianna Huffington, Scott Ritter and John Dean to the Valley, to stimulate the minds of community members.

Conversation between Flanders and Scheer is slated. Both best-selling authors will be addressing a number of topics, including the limited range of opinion in mainstream media.

"I have a problem with democrats saying the election was based on morals," said Flanders. "It's not true."

Flanders, author of "BUSHWOMEN: Tales of a Cynical Species," condemns last year's presidential candidates for not reaching out to young voters.

"Politicians would be better off listening to what young people have to say rather than just asking for their vote every four years."

Flanders' syndicated radio show, "The Laura Flanders Show," on Air America, has just returned for a second year and she looks forward to speaking with Scheer at the series.

"Robert is an intelligent guy and is very interested in what's affecting young people today."

Scheer, author of six books, including "The 5 Biggest Lies Bush Told Us About Iraq," spoke at the series last year.
