"We got out with a good start and finished it even better," said Valley catcher Lorena Arreguin. "There was a lot of communication during this game."
The game started on a good note as Valley pitcher Pualine Morquecho allowed no hits during the first inning.
Just as the Monarchs got started with the offense, Amanda Salazar hit a home run and got two RBIs during the first inning as the Lady Monarchs scored the first two runs of the game.
In the top of the fourth inning, Morquecho kept Moorpark scoreless. The Lady Monarchs' scoring marathon came during the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring six runs on eight hits.
"It was good that everyone got to hit the ball," said Deyssy Esquivel. "We played our game during the fourth inning."
The Lady Monarchs have much potential this season if the team continues playing the way during it did this game.
It is the team's confidence that brings all the girls together, during the long hours of workout during the season, according to Arreguin.
"We are looking forward go all the way to state," said Arreguin. "We have been working harder than other team around here."
