The Monarchs' Track and Field team concluded their regular season in a five-way conference meet at Santa Monica College Friday.

"We had a hard fight," said Head Coach Francois Wolman. "The meet was decided on the last minute points."

In the five-way conference meet the Monarchs competed against Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Allan Hancock and the hosting team West Los
Angeles at Santa Monica College.

Valley men's and women's both took third place falling behind Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara as Monarchs prepare to compete at Azusa
Pacific University's Meet of Champions which will feature many Division I teams and world class athletes.

Myriam LeMailloux was named women's athlete of the week, as she competed in 4x100 meter relay, 400-meter 4x400 meter relay, long jump, and high jump and broke her personal best in 200-meter.

The men's athlete of the week is Steven Bautista who broke his personal best javelin with almost 15 feet with a distance of 161'8" feet. Bautista
also competed in 400-meter and 4x400-meter relay.

"We were scoring late points," said Wolman. "But we weren't able to finish it all the way."

"It was like a late election," said assistant coach Bob Macias. "Everything is being decided on last minute today."

The Monarchs will compete at Azusa Pacific University's Meet of Champions this Saturday before the head to Western State Conference
Prelims April 16 at Moorpark.
