LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

The Gauntlet Is Thrown I dare Amanda Yollin, who decided to [provide] false information about me [to] The Valley Star, to debate me in front of LAVC students. [You were] one of the three people who applied for ASU's ICC representative position. I happened to be more qualified than you and got the position. I assume that your jealousy of me has deeper roots than I imagined. Ms. Yollin, you have no idea about what I have done in the ASU, and decided to [write] a letter without knowledge or research on the matter. Your argument is weak and this makes you sound not so intelligent. Your letter about Levon [Bagramian] and me said, "Since you two have joined this unit, ASU has changed for the worse and everyone knows it." If you can find a single Executive Board member out of 13 or even the adviser of ASU, or any single club ICC Representative or one club president out of 19 clubs that I have been working with in the past seven months, who will say that ASU has changed for the worse after I joined, and even more if anyone can say that Nelli Martirosyan has broken a single promise she made, I swear publicly, that I will drop out of the race for ASU president. Make sure your witnesses aren't as false and made up as your letter about me. Good luck to you, Amanda Yollin, and keep in mind that ASU isn't about working on being a strong family, but making a difference for the more than 16,000 students who attend LAVC. -Nelli Martirosyan Interclub Council Representative Good Cops / Good Cops You always hear the bad things about the campus police. I think that it is time to hear the good things about our campus police. I was having a lot of problems with my scooter as well as my physical health. I would call and almost before I could hang up they would be there to help me. One time I fell and two cadets came along with four other officers. Then another time my battery went down on my scooter by the bookstore. I called the campus police. When they arrived I told them the problem and they made the decision to try to push me and my scooter over by the library. This is why they are my knights in shining armor. -Lynn Eller (The Scooter Lady)
