The choir, made up of Valley students whose average age just happens to be more than 60, performed the Broadway favorites for the more-than-100-member audience. Along with Broadway songs, choir member John Barbarotta performed an original piece called "A Walk in the Park" on the piano.
"The show went great," said Jennifer Kelly. "I am really proud of the choir. The audience enjoyed it and the choir enjoyed singing, which is most important."
Between songs, gift baskets were raffled off to keep the audience entertained while the next performer set up.
"I'm really enjoying the show," said former choir member Russell Schuh. "They are improving every time they do this."
The audience, filled with many friends and family members of the choir, showed its enjoyment with the loud applause after every song. Many attended the fundraiser to support the choir and the community.
"It's a very good show," beamed John Wyman, the proud husband of a choir member.
The choir's next performance, "A Celebration of Women" on June 5 in the Mainstage Theatre, will include the UCLA University Chorus and the Valley College Chamber of Singers.
