Greg Burmann / Valley Star THE WATER IS FINE - Andy Sandoval gets a head start in the 800-meter free-style relay during conference finals at Cuesta College earlier this month. Three Valley Students became All-American earlier this month: Megan Winchell, Matt Alberti, and Valentine Alberti. All medaled at the State Championship.

Cynthia Perry / Valley Star TOSSING THE JAVELIN - Steven Bautista earned 7th place in the Western State Conference in javelin earlier this month with a throw of 153 feet and 1 inch. Antoinette Burton took fifth in the State Championship in high jump with a jump of 5 feet and 2 inches.

Greg Burmann / Valley Star THIS MISSION POSITION- Brecken Bronner gets down and dirty to rob the Mission Eagles last month. The Lady Monarchs were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round by Cypress College on May 8. Valley finished third in the conference with a record of 16-8.
