After just one month on the job, Tatevik Vardanyan has resigned as the Associated Student Union's commissioner of public relations citing personal conflicts with ASU President Nelli Martirosyan.

"She put pressure on me," said Vardanyan, who quit her post on the first day of classes. "She made me cry all the time."

Vardanyan said the conflict that prompted her resignation involved the official ASU Textbook Exchange flier and Martirosyan's repeated requests to redo the document.

Vardanyan said design decisions fall to the public relations commissioner so long as the material is approved by ASU Advisor Sherri Rodriguez.

" I advised them to talk to each other and work this issue out between themselves," said Rodriguez. "Vardanyan didn't mention anything about her personal problems with Martirosyan in her resignation letter to me."

Rodriguez said she didn't witness harsh comment by Martirosyan.

"From July to mid-August Vardanyan didn't do anything to publicize the ASU Textbook Exchange," said Martirosyan. "When she finally did, she put the wrong information on the flyer."

"In the ASU you need to do your job," said Martirosyan.

Martirosyan said all three flyers had incorrect information.

ASU currently have four open positions including, commissioner of athletics, inner-club counsel representative, secretary and commissioner of public relations.
