Valley College's North Gym was host to a very exclusive birthday party last week
More than 40 students and instructors, Valley President Tyree Wieder and three other students were on the guest list.
Among those present were Valley students Sylvia Aleerman, 93, Gabrielle Bril, 92, and Mary Bullard, 90.
In came the birthday girl, Hazel Warner, 90 years young, still attending fitness classes at Valley and more vibrant than ever.
"I got my A.A. here at Valley about 100 years ago," said Warner, who was one of Valley's first students. "But lately, I have been only taking art, aerobics and fitness classes here."
Slacker or not, Warner is among four Valley students over 90 who have been coming to the Fitness Center for at least 25 years.
"I will ask my office to make a special certificate for all of you," said Wieder, whose office is in the process of creating certificates for all the students who have been attending fitness classes for at least 15 years.
"I love this place," said Aleerman, who has been taking classes at Valley for more than 28 years. "The fitness center is the best place on campus if you like to live a healthy life."
If these ladies don't inspire you to hit the gym then nothing will.
