"I couldn't see anything in the fog," said freshman goalkeeper Rosa Ramy. "I think we need to learn how to play as a team more and attack the ball more often than we have been."
The Monarchs finished the season with a 5-16-1 record and ninth place in the Western State Conference. The team seemed to be playing without a rudder on offence against the Corsairs.
"I am pretty disappointed at the way we played today knowing this was my last game at Valley," said sophomore Jessie Paul, who was one of the few stars of this season. "Although we didn't do as good as we wanted to this season, I had real good time playing with this group of girls."
The Corsairs netted their first goal at the 10-minute mark of the first quarter and scored three times before the break.
"We didn't execute our game plan," head coach Eric Archilla said. "We weren't shooting the ball as we were supposed to."
Although players didn't have much success this season due to inexperience and injuries, the coach hopes things turn around next year.
"I am looking at a group of very good recruits coming in next season," Archilla said. "We should have a very good team with the help of our freshmen from this season."
